LES GIRONDINSLes Girondins furent sous la Révolution Française des membres d’un
groupe politique.
Le nom de leur groupe, vient du faite, que les députés venaient de
Gironde.
Ils siégèrent à l’Assemblée législative et à la Convention. Ces
principaux députés étaient, Vergniaud, Guadet, Gensonné.
Les Girondins furent les défenseurs de la bourgeoisie parisienne
éclairée et eurent comme adversaires les Montagnards, qui eux
défendaient les intérêts des Révolutionnaires.
C’est d’ailleurs, les Montagnards alliés aux Sans-culottes, qui vont les
éliminer, les 31 mai et 2 juin 1793, durant la Convention de Paris, pour
ensuite, pouvoir gouverner seul le pays.
