changed to natural gas, coal and petroleum which are the three main sources of fossil fuels. The
reason for this conversion is because of the high heat and pressure that is present inside the earth.
Fossil fuels are sources of energy that cannot be renewed because they take a very long time to
form again. Fossil fuels are used to cook food, create detergents, plastics and they are used as gas
for vehicles (BYJUS, 2023). Although fossil fuels have many advantages, they also have
disadvantages that are not talked about. In this paper, I will be sharing the advantages and
disadvantages of using fossil fuels. I will share alternatives to fossil fuels that can be renewed as
well as their advantages and disadvantages. By the end of this paper, you will be more informed
and you can make a better decision.

food, create detergents, plastics and they are used as gas for vehicles. Fossil fuels are a source of
energy that is renewable. A lot of the energy that we use daily is burning fossil fuels. Fossil fuels
are used quickly, they cannot be produced as fast as their use (Byjus, 2023).
Some advantages of using fossil fuels are they are energy sources that are efficient, fossil
fuels create useful products after their use which are utilized for other needs, they are
transportable with ease, they are available everywhere and they can be extracted with ease.
Among different sources of energy, fossil fuel is the most efficient. The reason is very few
proportions of oil or natural gas can give a big portion of energy (Pace, 2023). Different fuels
have different numbers of energy per unit, fossil fuels are more heavy than all other sources. It
has been mentioned that the density of solar energy is 1.5 microjoules for every cube meter, this
is 20 trillion times less than oil. Solar energy is a renewable source of energy and can be
sustainable, however fossil fuels make more efficient sources of energy. Fossil fuels create
products after their use that are utilized at homes and businesses all around the world (Pace,
2023). One of the items that can be extracted from oil is petrochemicals, these chemicals allow
for creation of more than 6000 products and also devices. After crude oil is extracted from the
ground, it is sent to a factory where all the elements of crude oil are categorized into different
utilizable products that are made out of petroleum (Pace, 2023). A lot of these categories are
used for the creation of energy, some chemicals are used to make items such as umbrellas, bags,
contact lenses, mops and more. If these chemicals were not derived, creation of these items is not
possible. Transportation of fossil fuels is easier than transportation of the energy that comes from
wind and solar power. Crude oil is transported from the place it was extracted to factories that
use tankers, transportation over land is available by using trucks and railroads, transportation is
possible underground by using pipelines (Pace, 2023). It may be assumed that it is easy to move
fossil fuels however, leaking of oil spills and natural gas is common. These situations are a big
contributor to many pollutants which impact the atmosphere and sources of water around us.
Plants and sites of extraction for fossil fuels use very little ground for the extraction procedure.
Oil trucks extract most of the oil that is present around the world. The procedure requires drilling
a hole into an area where there could be oil and taking it out through a tube that is long. Since
