the expected topics like caring for the community and ethic business partners and managing

of finances, but it also discusses taking care when addressing politics and promoting health

and safety. People might not realize how critical it is that an employer address and support

these necessary acts to develop trust with the community. A business is so much more than

producing and selling a product or service. To truly be successful in today’s economic

market, business owners must delve further into the world of ethics to contribute into the

communities in which they build.

2. Target’s code of ethics addresses compliance with legal matters throughout the

document. It points out that the company does not tolerate retaliation of any kind

against someone who reports a concern in good faith. This is important to comply

regulatory agencies and federal laws that protect whistleblowers. The code of ethics also

encourages readers to know the law and how it applies to their job and lives. In order to

comply completely with the code of ethics, the employee must have an understanding of

laws and follow them. Each section that discusses a different topic can be related to law
