It is important, for the success of our Advanced Nursing Theory course (NSG 620) to maintain a culture
that supports integrity. By obeying to standards we ensure that each students academic
accomplishments truly reflect their understanding and application of nursing theories. To nurture an
environment characterized by honesty, credibility and accountability it is important that we strictly obey
the following guidelines regarding integrity in learning and assessments;
1. Originality in Assignments:
All assignments, discussions, and projects must be the individual work of each student.
Plagiarism, the use of unauthorized materials, or submitting work that is not one's own will
result in severe consequences, including academic penalties.
2. Collaboration Policy:
Collaboration is encouraged within the limits defined by the instructor for specific assignments.
Unless clearly stated, all individual work must be completed independently, and students should
not share their assessments with others.
3. Citations and Referencing:
Proper citation and referencing are important to academic integrity.
Any external sources used in assignments or discussions must be appropriately cited according
to the APA format.
Failure to give credit to the original sources constitutes plagiarism.
4. Honesty in Discussions:
Discussions are meant to be forums for sharing thoughts, experiences, and reflections.
Students are expected to contribute their own ideas and engage in respectful dialogue with
peers.
Misrepresentation of one's experiences or opinions is discouraged.
5. Exam Policies:
Exams, including quizzes, midterms, and the final exam, are strictly individual assessments.
Use of external resources, collaboration with others, or any form of cheating during exams is
banned.
