ANATOMIE
Hypothalamus
De hypothalamus ligt in de diencephalon. Hierin zitten verschillende onderdelen:
1. Epithalamus
2. Thalamus dorsalis
3. Subthalamus
4. Hypothalamus
De twee delen van de hypothalamus worden met elkaar verbonden door een gaatje in het derde
ventrikel.
Er zijn verschillende onderdelen (nucleii) te onderscheiden in de hypothalamus:
Ventral, paraventriculair en supraoptische nucleus zorgen voor de regulatie van water
balans.
Posterior¸ directe connectie met hersenstam. Activeren sympathisch zenuwstelsel.
Mediaal
Elke nucleus zorgt voor een ander effect in het lichaam.
Ook het organum subcommissurale heeft een effect op het waterbalans.
De epifyse is indirect met de hypothalamus verbonden. Stoffen gaan via de hersenstam naar de
epifyse.
Hypofyse
De hypofyse ligt in het sella turcica. De hypofyse wordt aan alle kanten omgeven door bot, behalve
het craniale gedeelte. Op een röntgenfoto is de hypofyse te zien boven de air sinus.
