Identifying the Recycling Drop-Off Location
Finding a convenient drop-off site is the first step towards effective waste management. I
decided to focus on plastic recycling, choosing Bungcwele Recycling Centre in
Schoenmakerskop, Gqeberha, which accepts a variety of materials including glass, paper,
and metals. The centre is located in Schoenmakerskop, Gqeberha, 6011, about 10
kilometers from my residence, roughly a 15-minute drive. Operating from 8 am to 5 pm, the
centre’s hours are flexible, allowing for drop-offs either before or after work. Locating it was
easy using Google Maps, which provided precise directions and coordinates. Although I
had no issues finding the centre, I did notice that signage could be improved for better
visibility, especially for new visitors.
Influence on Recycling Practices
Discovering the Bungcwele Recycling Centre has greatly influenced my recycling habits. In
the past, I recycled sporadically, mainly when it was convenient. However, knowing exactly
where the centre is and how accessible it is has motivated me to recycle more consistently
