You will read three books from your teacher’s book list. Let your teacher know what book
you chose before you start reading!
Be sure to take notes while you’re reading and do the assignments below. You will make the
assignment for each of these books. Additionally, when you’ve finished reading all of your
books, write down overall similarities in characters, genre, or plot.
Type this report and hand it in on Magister ‘opdrachten’.
Assignment A
List the most important characters below: The main characters. In the right column,
write down five characteristics for each of these characters. Write down examples for
each of these characteristics. Example: Jim is very outgoing because he talks and makes
jokes with everyone he meets.
Tessa Scott Nieuwsgierig: Tessa heeft 10 dingen
op een lijst geschreven dat ze nog
wil doen voordat ze doodgaat. Ze is
nieuwsgierig omdat ze deze dingen
nog nooit eerder heeft gedaan en ze
wil weten hoe het is om zulke dingen
te doen.
Ongehoorzaam: Tessa is
ongehoorzaam, omdat ze niet bereid
is om gehoor te geven aan gestelde
regels. Denk hierbij aan één van de
dingen die op haar lijst staat,
namelijk de regels verbreken. Tessa
heeft namelijk misdaden gepleegd.
Ze heeft geen buskaartje betaald en
daarnaast heeft ze ook nog eens
nagellak en andere spullen gestolen.
Dapper: Ze is dapper, omdat ze
ondanks haar ziekte toch nog
doorgaat met het leven. Tessa lijdt
aan kanker. Waardoor ze niet lang
meer te leven heeft. In de eerste
, instantie gaf ze het op, maar toen ze
te horen kreeg dat ze niet lang meer
te leven had, begon ze een lijst te
maken met de dingen die ze nog wou
doen voordat ze doodging. Ze deed
dit omdat ze geleefd wou hebben.
Wantrouwig: Het eerste ding op
haar lijstje was dat ze voordat ze
doodging nog seks wou hebben.
Tessa en haar beste vriendin, Zoey,
besloten om naar een club te gaan.
Daar kwamen ze twee jongens tegen.
Zoey wou al meteen met hen mee
naar huis, maar Tessa vertrouwde dat
niet helemaal. Tessa zei tegen Zoey
dat ze hen pas net kende en dat ze
daarom niet te vertrouwen waren.
Dit maakt Tessa wantrouwig.
Onzeker: In het begin van het
verhaal zie je heel erg dat Tessa
praat over hoe mooi en perfect Zoey
is en dat ze ook zo perfect als haar
wil zijn. Zo zegt ze dat Zoey en mooi
lichaam en mooi haar heeft en dat ze
ook had gehoopt om zo te zijn. Toen
ze samen uitgingen had ze ook het
idee dat mensen van haar walgden,
omdat ze bijna geen haar op haar
hoofd heeft door de chemo.
