Developmental behavior theories are a huge part of understand the actions

of children in a classroom. Behaviors have been analyzed by many theorist and

these examinations help educa- tors develop proper ways to assist students with

behavioral development or concerns. This edu- cational research helps teachers to

implement curriculum and strategical modifications to instruc- tion that meets the

needs of all students. My instructional setting is that of fourth grade students who

range from ages 910. My classroom is consist of 26 students. 11 are boys and 15

are girls. Most of my students come from middle to lower socioeconomic class and

their backgrounds vary. Half of my students are bilingual or considered EEL’s.

Three of my students have IEP’s for learning disabilities or ADHD. Half of my

students are below grade level in reading. Modifying general curriculum and

instruction is an effective way to create a more successful environment for students

of all needs and various backgrounds. In this paper I will address my recommenda-

tion for both curriculum and instructional strategies that will effective learning to

meet the needs of my diverse students. I will also justify how certain specific

behavior theories connect to the adjustments that I purpose to my curriculum and

instructional procedures in class.
