The CCPDT is committed to promoting and upholding ethical practices in the dog
training profession.
Members of the public trust dog training professionals with the behavioral health of their
companion dogs, and this means we take on a special obligation to operate ethically.
Each of us sets an example for the public and for other dog training professionals
through our adherence to high standards of excellence, professionalism, and ethical
conduct.
Our Code of Ethics provides certificants with a set of guidelines and goals designed to
assist them in the ethical challenges of their work and elevate the level of
professionalism in dog training and behavior consulting. Certificants must agree to
abide by this code to retain any CCPDT certifications.
