Hoofdstuk 1 : inleiding
1.1. Oorsprong :
- Sinds de oudheid : hout ruim toegepast materiaal
- Constructiewijze is gevolg van eeuwenlange ontwikkeling
- Vanaf 18e eeuw : meer baksteen (status, brandrisico,…)
- Laatste decennia : herwaardering
- Combinatie traditionele ervaring en moderne technologie (Noord-Amerika)
1.2. Wat verstaan we onder houtbouw ?
= constructie waarbij alle dragende elementen in hout zijn. De binnen/buiten afwerking is
vrij te kiezen

1. Weinig hinder van krimpverschillen (hout krimpt op de
vezel aanzienlijk meer dan in de richting van de vezel)
2. Makkelijke prefabricatie door strikte scheiding van

3. Betere overdracht van schuifkrachten mogelijk
Nadeel : luchtdichtheid t.o.v. vloer!
➔ Laatste jaren tendens om terug meer balloonbouw te
gaan toepassen, vooral in passiefbouw
