Bestudeer in je boek medisch technisch handelen voor doktersassistenten
van hoofdstuk 6 onderwerp ‘Drukverband’ en maak zo nodig
aantekeningen. Zoek ook op waar de afkorting R.I.C.E. voor staat bij
eerste hulp van kneuzingen en maak hier een aantekening van. Bestudeer
ook alle protocollen over het aanbrengen van steun- en drukverbanden.
Rust → Rust en bescherm het verbonden lichaamsdeel. Stop, verander of neem een
pauze van elke activiteit die pijn kan veroorzaken.
IJs → Verminderen van pijn en zwelling. Breng meteen een ijs- of coldpack aan om
zwelling te voorkomen of te minimaliseren. Breng het ijs of cold pack gedurende 10-
20 minuten, 3 of meer keer p. dag aan. Als de zwelling na 48 tot 72 uur verdwenen is,
breng dan warmte aan op het gebied dat pijn doet. Leg een handdoek over het koude
of warmtepakket, breng geen ijs of warmte rechtstreeks op de huid aan.
Compressie → Druk uitoefenen zal de zwelling helpen verminderen. Maar niet te
veel druk aanbrengen, omdat dit meer zwelling kan veroorzaken. Maak het verband
los als het te strak wordt. Tekenen dat het verband te strak zit, zijn onder meer
gevoelloosheid, tintelingen, verhoogde pijn, koelte of zwelling in het gebied onder
het verband. Neem contact op met uw arts als u denkt dat u een draagdoek langer dan
48 tot 72 uur moet gebruiken; een ernstiger probleem kan aanwezig zijn.
Elevatie → Verhoog het gewonde of pijnlijke gebied op kussens terwijl u ijs
aanbrengt, en wanneer je zit of ligt. Probeer het gebied op of boven het niveau van
uw hart te houden om zwelling te verminderen. LINK
