Protons are found in the central nucleus of an atom and
electrons are orbiting around the nucleus.
Electrons are 1/2000 (1:1800) of the mass of a proton.

2. Give the nuclear equation symbol for oxygen (O)
which has 8 protons and 8 neutrons, and for fluorine
(F) which has 9 protons and 10 neutrons.

A = 8 as 14 – 6 = 8. B = 12 as 23 – 11 = 12. C = 7 as 14 – 7 = 7. D
= 143 as 235 – 92 = 143.
