Subject: Cyber Presentation Change Recommendations
Hi Presenter,
I hope all is well with you. I reviewed your presentation regarding the phishing cyber-
attack. I have some recommended changes that will help the team better understand
the importance of the attack. One of the main areas to consider is your audience when
creating presentations. In this scenario we are working with the CEO, Legal and the
Response team. It really is a lot of ground to cover but the good thing is they are all
looking for similar information that if needed you could follow up with additional detail
upon request. There are 3 main areas that I would suggest we restructure to better get
the message across, these areas include:
Design: Changing the color scheme and font
o You want to make sure that the color scheme and font are uniform
throughout the presentation unless there is something specific that needs to
be called out.
o The slides were quite bold with multiple colors, gradient affects and different
fonts throughout. While many of the slides used the same type of colors, we
aim to do solid backgrounds (less is more).
o This makes it easier for the reader to focus on the content and not get
distracted by the surroundings. The slides in question are slides 2-8.
Content: Ensure we are touching on the main topics for each audience
o Rather than touching on the details of “what” a phishing attack is (slides 6 &
7), it would be best to narrow the scope of the presentation to what each
audience is looking for.
o The CEO was looking for a root cause, slide 4 needs to be better titled and
summarized to provide the root cause
o There is additional information on slide 4 regarding the financial aspect, this
should be merged with slide 5 to provide the legal team with the initial
assessment of the damage. Please be clearer and more concise regarding
the numbers and associated financial buckets each are indicative of.
o Both the legal team and CEO are looking for a timeline with milestones, with
the removal of “what” a phishing attack is, please replace this slide with a
full timeline including activities and dates for each new milestone.
o The CEO, response team and legal team are all looking for a plan to
communicating to each team to prevent similar incidents in the future. This
was touched on in slides 3 and 8 but it would be more effective to have one
slide and provide the requested emphasis on collaboration regarding these
next steps.
