Speech Project
Gathering information was the least hard part of the entire project. It was difficult for me
to remember all five right off the top of my head but, once I looked it over, I touched on all five
without thinking of them. I thought I had to gather all the information and use Cicero’s speech
outline but, as I was reviewing my speech, all five canons of rhetoric were there. As for
invention, my goal is to help people understand that there are helpful ways to overcome
indecision and just because you are taking your time, causing others to grow agitated, does not
mean you have a problem or have problems. My audience would be rookie adults that are
choosing where to go next or what to do.
The arrangement was very interesting. I thought all my information could be placed in
one section although I was able to apply it in other sections. It was stressful because I thought I
needed to have it perfect with information in the right sections. I decided it would be great to
involve personal stories to identify how indecisive a person I am. For example, I would tell my
audience a story where I was a part of my in-person high school but I was still creating a
schedule with my independent study school. It wasn’t until two days before school started that
my in person high school said I was never enrolled with them. I would also tell them I was very
indecisive if my college choice but have made it easier on myself with the research I have done
on the topic.
