1) James-Lange theorie
Stimulus -> lichamelijke reactie -> emotie
vooraleer we emotie voelen moet er eerst lich reactie zijn
- Emotionele prikkels lokken een reflexmatige lichamelijke reactie uit
- Onze hersenen interpreteren deze reflexmatige lichamelijke reactie nadien als een
emotie
- We moeten zeggen dat “we verdrietig zijn omdat we huilen, boos zijn omdat we
een klap uitdelen, bang zijn omdat we beven en niet dat we huilen, vechten of
beven omdat we verdrietig zijn, of boos of bang”.

- Eerst spontane reactie, dan meer cognitieve bewuste interpretatie die ervoor
zorgt dat we prikkel gaan herevalueren
- Onbewuste, onwillekeurige, snelle (subcorticale) route van emotionele
verwerking (eerste wat gebeurt – snelle inschatting prikkel zonder invloed v jou)
- Bewuste, gecontroleerde, trage (corticale) route (echt emotionele, rationele deel)
