General structure for answering 10/30 mark scenario/problem questions
 what you say has to come from the law - you need to give a case for every
rule to show where your application comes from
 make a list at the start of the question and tick off the elements as you go.
 read the sentences and the instructions to work out what
crimes/torts/contracts/defences/remedies need to be covered.
Structuring the entire essay:
 make a list of the key elements of the offence/other in a list - this should
cover the building blocks of the definition of the offence/other.
 write a paragraph for each of the elements.
 example: for crimes it will be 1 AR, 2 MR, 3 Causation, 4 (if applicable)
Remedies and/or Defences.
 Arrange your answer in subsections per each party/crime relationship. So
if Person A seems to commit 3 offences against Persons B and C (2 against
the latter), organise your answer in following sub headings: Person A
against Person B / Person A against Person B for X crime / Person A against
Person B for Y crime. This helps you not to accidentally miss out any
application points. No need to write out the relevant in full per sub section,
can just refer to the main points and mention 'as discussed above' where
relevant.
Structuring a paragraph:
 Either: write out all the law at the start of the question. Then apply. Then
conclude.
 Or: IRAC.
 Issue - outline the relevant crime/tort/contract.
 Relevant law - outline the relevant law, ensure to include cases.
 Apply - apply the relevant law to the facts. Extra marks: include other
cases.
 Conclude - say whether the crimes/torts/terms are liable/apply. If time,
summarise the keep steps/elements to highlight why/why not the outcome
you've decided to come to.
