World and the Advertisement
I. Introduction
A. Advertisement is a world where people buy the things that are shown to them in any way
of means like T.V, boards, and any other means is called advertisement
B. It gives misleading information to the people and makes them buy those things which are
unnecessary products are called “Weasel Words.”
C. In the essay “Weasel Words”, by Wiliam Lutz. He explains to us how the advertisement
team lures us to buy the product we do not want at all. An example from that essay is:-
“One problem advertisers have when they try to convince you that the product they are
pushing is something different from other, similar products is that their claims are subject
to some laws” (1).
D. Lutz also advises consumers to give attention to the advertisement they need not any
other advertisement they see on the boarding or T.V or anything else. He also tells
consumers to examine the Ad carefully and to be watch and break them according to
Aristotle's theory
E. Ethos means the use of a famous person or any character in the Ad who has a huge fan
base and people follow them and they use them to endorse the product for them.
F. Logos mean a character or any product used to appeal to a person to buy that product by
any mean

G. Pathos means words that can appeal to consumers by the way of their joy, emotion, or
happiness.
H. Advertisers typically use the Three Appeals to promote their products and tell consumers
to buy that product
II. Summary of Starbucks Advertisement
A. The advertisement I would be analyzing is called “ Meet Me At Starbuck” by
Starbucks about their Ad meeting your loved ones at one of the most famous
brands of the coffee shop which is Starbucks.
B. It is a 30 second long Ad which was filmed in 28 different countries at the same
time.
C. The Ad starts from a line we will see is “If you went to any Starbucks in the
world” (Introduction 0:01-0:02).
D. Then comes the entrance of the Starbucks stores from around the world ( Store
entrance 0:02-0:04), and it shows 3 different stores gates from whole around the
world.
E. Then come two small children with a cold cup of Starbucks special cold brew
(0:05-0:07), then come the line which tells the audience “what would you find”
and after that, we can see two couples and a small child running to their
grandparents, then we can see a line over couple stating love, then comes old
couple line stating enduring love, then comes two karate fighters stating respect,
and many more people in the background with written understanding on it, then
comes the man dancing stating new moves, two children listening to the song and
many other lines like good thing happens at the end we can see. (0:07-0:23)
