Bijniermerg secreteert adrenaline, noradrenaline en dopamine (deze werken zowel alpha als
Beta en naargelang welk orgaan gaan ze meer alpha of meer beta werken)
Vanuit hypothalamus vertrekt de nervus splanchnicus die de cellen in het bijniermerg
rechtstreeks bezenuwt
Dopamine (inhiberende factor van prolactine) maar is een catecholamine omdat nor en
adrenaline hieruit ontstaan MAAR dopamine bindt op zijn eigen receptoren en niet op die
van nor en adrenaline
Catecholamines worden geproduceerd door de chroomaffiene cellen (zenuwstrengen in
bijniermerg geïnnerveerd door de nervus splanchnicus)
Tyrosine is de bouwsteen en door tyrosine hydroxylase wordt deze omgezet naar dopa en zo
worden dopamine, noradrenaline en adrenaline geproduceerd
De hydroxylase is de snelheidsbepalende factor voor de acute stressprikkel waardoor de
catecholamines geproduceerd worden
Dopamine, noradrenaline en adrenaline geven negatieve feedback op tyrosine hydroxylase
De hoeveelheden NOR en ADR die geproduceerd worden is afhankelijk van:
Diersoort: de meeste diersoorten gaan 80% ADR en 20% NOR produceren MAAR kat, kip
en walvis gaan dan weer vnl NOR produceren; ook bij de foetus is er vnl NOR en bij de
geboorte krijg je dan de omslag naar ADR
Type stressprikkel: kalf die bang is moet vecchten voor zijn leven = ADR; een jachtdier die
zijn prooi ziet is een positieve stressprikkel = NOR
NOR en ADR zijn membraangebonden => waarna second messengers in gang komen en NOR
en ADR hebben andere second messengers (zie verder)
NOR en ADR worden gestockeerd in de secretorische granules en wanneer ze gebonden zijn
aan ATP zijn ze inactief maar er is continu lekkage dus in het cytosol worden de gelekte NOR
en ADR afgebroken door MAO (= monoaminooxydase); in het interstitium worden ze
afgebroken door COMT (catechol-O-methyltransferase)
