• Spijsverteringsstelsel bestaat uit 2 delen
o Spijsverteringskanaal
- De weg die het voedsel volgt

▪ Dunne darm
▪ Dikke darm
o Accessoire organen
- Hebben een belangrijke rol om het proces, vertering te laten gebeuren

• Ingestie
o Voedsel komt via mond spijsverteringsstelsel binnen
• Mechanische verwerking

• Vertering
o Chemische afbraak van voedsel, tot kleine stoffen die kunnen worden opgenomen.
• Secretie

o Verplaatsten van bouwstoffen doorheen dekweefsel naar interstitiële vloeistof rond

• Uitscheiding
o Verwijderen van afvalstoffen uit lichaamsvloeistoffen
• Niet-specifieke afweer
o Bekleding van spijsverteringskanaal biedt bescherming aan omliggende organen,
bescherming van:
- Schade door zuren en enzymen van spijsverteringskanaal
- Bescherming tegen bacteriën die in kanaal blijven en helpen met vertering.

o Mucosa

o Muscularis externa
o Serosa
2.1.1 Mucosa
• = binnenste laag
• Functie
o Slijmproductie
o Oppervlakvergroting
• = een slijmvlies
• Heeft plooien -> zorgt voor oppervlaktevergroting
o Om ervoor te zorgen dat er zoveel mogelijk contact is tussen voedsel in de dunne
darm en dunne darm zelf. In dunne darm is er een uitwisseling van bouwstenen die
dan in het lichaam worden opgenomen
• Op de mucosa liggen villi (vlokken)
o Zorgen voor: oppervlaktevergroting
• Mucosa bevat muscularis mucosa
o = glad spierweefsel, om darmvlokken en plooien te bewegen
