- Inventory = voorraad
- Motion = beweging
- Waiting times = wachttijden
- Over-processing = over-verwerking
- Over-production = overproductie

Continue verbetering (PDCA, Deming, DMAIC):
 PDCA:
1. Plan: plannen wat je gaat doen en hoe
2. Do: plan uitvoeren
3. Check: controleren of alles volgens plan is verlopen
4. Act: aanpassen wat niet volgens plan is verlopen

 DMAIC:
- Define: identificieer interne en externe klanten, identificeer behoefte, formuleer
probleemstelling
- Measure: identificeer procesparameters variabelen, analyseer het huidig meetsysteem
- Analyze: zorg voor het begrip van het proces, identificeer common/special causes van
variatie
- Improve: identificeer mogelijke oplossingen door DOE, verifieer oplossingen

- Vóór het KOOP: stabiele productie, gericht op efficiëntie (seriematig produceren) bv. met MRP
- Na het KOOP: fluctuaties in de klantvraag veroorzaken ook fluctuaties in de productie. Pieken in de
vraag groter dan de fabriekscapaciteit zijn een probleem.

One piece flow:
• Het produceren van een zo’n klein mogelijke productieserie (streven naar batchgrootte van 1
stuk)
• Efficiency versus flexibiliteit/lage voorraad
• Dit staat “haaks” op “formule van Camp” waarbij optimale productie serie bepaald wordt op
basis van optimum omstelkosten en opslagkosten.
 Focus LEAN op reductie omsteltijd waardoor pull/’klant order gestuurd werken’ mogelijk
wordt

SMED = Single Minute Exchange of Dies (formule 1)

Continous flow:
= produceren van één product per keer, waarbij elk product zonder oponthoud van het ene proces
naar het volgende gaat

Takttijd:
= beschikbare werktijd per werkperiode / gem. klantvraag per werkperiode
De takttijd is een indicator hoe lang je bewerkingstijd maximaal mag zijn per proces
