What are 4 recent or ongoing challenges in the environmental PR field? ANS --Continuing challenge
building an environmentally sustainable economy and society where monetary gain coexists with
ecological concerns (clean air and water)
-EPA taking a stance on VW emissions- cheating scandal; Zika Virus, challenge is educating the public on
each issue at hand.
-PR Practitioners now have to work harder to market and promote many companies "green
credentials"--have to be more full service oriented.

, Briefly explain why Thomas Hagley's relatively simplistic statement that his past work as a public
relations specialist has really involved just "influencing behavior"? ANS -Hagley states that we influence
behavior through strategic communication. PR specialists spend time researching the best time to post,
where to post, and what audience they are trying to reach. Basically they are trying to persuade their
audiences to either go buy their product, vote for someone specific, listen to a radio station, etc. In
reality, PR specialists work to reach their audience at the perfect time in the best way to
persuade/influence them to do what they want.

relevant to you and why? ANS -Human Relations Theory. It believes that if management or bosses show
more attention to employees that they will be more productive and produce more. I definitely agree
with this after working in a work place like the Hub. The more attention we get the more diligent we are
in our tasks and the more leases we typically get signed. We also do better if our team members
encourage us to do better or ask for our help.

-Researchers seek to explain the causes of change primarily through objective measurement and
statistics.
-Use experimental designs to reduce error, control biases and eliminate influence
-Researchers avoid bias
-They believe that we can identify reasons and explanations
What is Qualitative Research? ANS --Researchers see events as socially constructed through INDIVIDUAL
perceptions.
