scene: that he needs to regain power within the gang's hierarchy. The stress that this is putting him
under, causes him to become violent and intimidating

she is less guilty as she 'went home'. This innocence needs to be shown through her costume, hair

Personally, I think that Jan should wear mid-rise, embroidered blue jeans, a clean, white, unbranded
blouse and a school branded coat. Also, she should wear white, ankle socks and Ugg boots. The
abundance of white in this costume would symbolise her purity, innocence and non-antagonising
role within the play. Moreover, the fact that she is wearing a school coat would emphasise the age of
Jan, letting us know more about the gangs general age. Furthermore, I would ensure that Mark's
costume would have similar features, namely that he should be wearing denim, in order to show Jan
and his relationship, emphasising their less important roles in the group.
In terms of hair and make-up, I believe that both should be fairly natural and neat. Jan should have a
mid-length pony tail and a natural face of make-up: only wearing foundation that matches her skin
