o ICN and ANA each have developed a code of ethics for nurses.
• Professional Organization- organizations have evolved to support
and encourage high standards in nursing, they aim to support and
advance nursing.
o An example is the ANA

license
• Diversity- In providing care, the nurse promotes an environment in
which the human rights, values, customs, and spiritual beliefs of the
individual, family, and community are respected.

• These acts are laws that the nurse must be familiar with to function in
practice.
