romantiek noemen. Zij vormt een reactie op realisme en naturalisme; de
auteurs stellen zich niet tevreden met het weergeven van de werkelijkheid,
maar trachten in hun werk een idee tot uitdrukking te brengen.
Heel deze generatie van 1910 is bij uitstek romantisch: men is onbevredigd
door het heden; typerend voor het werk van al deze auteurs is een sterk
