, I specialize in helping U.S based businesses to expand into new international locations.
For my new client I will be evaluating two countries Mexico and India to determine the most and
least suitable locations so they can expand their manufacturing business. They offer computer
hard drives and computer memory. My new client business is very focused on sustainability,
equality, and quality.
Sustainability Measures and Environmental Regulation
Mexico has strict polices and environmental regulations that promote sustainability. The
General Law on Ecological Balance and Environmental Protection was established law states the
range of environmental matters which includes water, ground pollution, and air. In addition,
there are other important regulations for manufactures to know which are “National Waters Law,
Law of Sustainable Forest Development, Federal Law for the Prevention and Control of
Environmental Pollution” (Baldwin, 2023). In the contrast India has different environmental
regulations. In 1986 Environmental Protection Act and in 1974 and 1981 Prevention and Control
of Pollution Act for water and air (Enhesa, 2023).
Cost and Workforce
Mexico manufacturing workforce is well-educated. The cost of labor is $5.30 per hour for
a 48-hour work week. There are several different types of manufacturing industries and
electronics is one of them. In Mexico they have over 730 plants manufacturing and some of
those plants are computer equipment. This makes Mexico the third-largest exporter of
computers. In India the labor cost does vary depending on the region and some areas cost of
living is low. This country has three manufacturing industries, electronics is one of them.
The working hours per day are 9 hours and per week 48 hours.
