como fuente de energía pero en ausencia de glucosa y presencia de lactosa aumenta 50 veces la
transcripción del gen de la β galactosidasa y por tanto aumenta la cantidad de enzima.
Regulación de la actividad catalítica del enzima:
Regulación alostérica: Algunas enzimas tienen sitios alostéricos donde pueden unirse moléculas
reguladoras, alterando su actividad.
Modificación covalente: La adición o eliminación de grupos químicos específicos puede alterar
la actividad enzimática.
Activación proteolítica: Algunas enzimas inactivas requieren ser activadas mediante la escisión
proteolítica por proteasas.
Regulación por retroalimentación: Los productos finales o intermedios de una vía metabólica
pueden inhibir competitivamente la enzima que cataliza la primera etapa.
