Acceptable Progress - A policy defined and monitored by The PGA of America which
states the maximum timeframe a PGA PGM Program participant has to be elected to
PGA membership.
- Level 1: 2 years from level 1 start date
- Level 2: 2 years from level 2 start date
- Level 3: testing and election to PGA membership must occur within 8 years of level 1
start date
Course Manual: Answer the first part of a course that deals with an overview course
organization and learning outcomes for each course will be discussed here. Materials,
resources, reading assignments, and test preparation guidelines will also be discussed
here.
Eligible Employment - Answer A requirement to be a PGA Associate in the PGA PGM
Program. Associates are required to be employed in a PGA-approved employment
classification on a full-time basis at the time of registration and during the entirety of the
program. It is not required for PGA Students. Although they do have to complete the
required internships at PGA Recognized Golf Facilities under the same requirements as
an associate.
Internship - -The PGA requires all PGA Students to complete sixteen months of practical
training in the golf industry before graduation. All internships must be completed
following the eligible employment guidelines outlined in The PGA Constitution, Bylaws
and Regulations.
Knowledge Tests - Answer These objective tests match the knowledge learned in each
course. Knowledge tests made up of multiple-choice and true/false questions must be
passed in order to proceed to the next level. the questions are linked directly to the
learning outcomes. PGA Students test at their respective campuses.

student must complete in order to progress to the next level in the program
Level 3 Management Simulation - Answer the Level 3 Facility Management Simulation
allows teams to utilize and apply the learning from all of the courses in the PGA PGM
Program. Teams will work together to build a facility-wide approach with the purpose of
improving facility image, customer retention, long-term sustainable programs and
overall financial performance. Teams will compete with each other to present and
simulate their approach in this culminating Level 3 experience.
Membership Services - Answer The department of The PGA responsible for advising
PGA Associates, PGA Students and PGA Members through their careers, from initial
registration in the PGA Professional Golf Management Program through to Life Member
classification. This includes services such as registration to take Playing Ability Tests,
the recording of individual employment histories, records of educational qualification
and professional credits gained, and accurate registrations to tournaments and
classifications correct under the PGA Constitution.

of the PGA of America. Students of the PGA PGM Program access PGA.org for use of
the PGA knowledge center in completion of the PGA PGM Program
