1.1. INLEIDING
Combinatie: beeldvorming en behandeling
Per indicatie juiste farmacon kiezen, doseren en toepassen
1.2. DEFINITIE
Maakt gebruik van open radioactieve bronnen: patiënt wordt bron
- 90% diagnostiek
- 10% therapie
Farmacon gemerkt met radioactieve stof (isotoop) toedienen
=> verdeling, wordt opgenomen op plaatsen waar bepaald fysiologisch proces
afspeelt
=> radioactief verval van isotoop
=> (gamma)stralen
=> detectie van stralen
=> bepaling biodistributie van radiofarmacon in lichaam
Radiofarmacon = combinatie speurstof voor specifiek orgaan/orgaansysteem en
radioactief isotoop om proces in beeld te brengen
Diagnostische nucleaire geneeskunde: SPECT en PET
- SPECT = single photon emission computed tomography: maakt gebruik van
radionucliden die enkele gammastralen uitzenden
- PET = positron emission tomography: maakt gebruik van positron emitters die
dubbele gammastralen uitsturen
- Positron emitters = vaak radioactieve varianten van biologisch atoom, geïncorporeerd
in speurstof
- Single photon emitters = radioactieve merking via linkers die radionucleotide
koppelen aan speurstof
Radionuclidentherapie: speurstof gekoppeld aan therapeutisch radionuclide (alfa of
beta straal: hogere energie)
=> geeft grote hoeveelheid energie af op korte afstand
=> DNA-beschadiging en vernietiging van tumorcel door ds DNA-breuken
