P4: Apple and UNICEF
Explain how their style of organisation helps them to fulfill their purposes?
For this assignment I am going to explain how their style of organisation helps them to fulfill their
purposes. I have chosen for a profit company called Apple headquarted in California and a non-profit
organisation called UNICEF headquarted in New York.
Mission Statement: is a short sentence used by a company to explain in simple and short terms its
purpose for operating. It is needed to make the company`s purpose clear for all the stakeholders.
Apple`s mission statement is to bring the best and newest personal computing experience to:
Students, Educators, Creative Professional and Consumers around the world through their
innovative hardware, software and internet. To do so they need specialized employees who can
make the newest products with the newest technology. For example, the wireless charging of the
iPhone 8. Apple almost gives to every new employee courses about their products so that the
employee can explain Apple`s customers about the difference between for example the iPhone 7 and
8. Apple wants to offer their customers the newest inventions.
UNICEF’s mission statement is to advocate for the protection of children’s rights, to help meet their
basic needs and to expand their opportunities to reach their maximum potential. To do that
UNICEF needs employees/volunteers who can for example, feed childeren, give education to
childeren and inject childeren with medicines. UNICEF gives lessons to their employees/volunteers to
make sure all these tasks and other tasks are done correctly. UNICEF also gives courses to their new
employees. They train them for example for if the employees need to go in a war area. UNICEF wants
to end famine for childeren and give them education in countries where it is not possible.
Aim: is where the business wants to go to in the future these are the goals of the business. For
example, a business can aim for: Survival, Growth, Increased profit, becoming a global business or
increase shares.
Apple aims for:
Being the number one technology company in the world.
Inventing products that can be useful for the day to day life.
Expand their sales.
UNICEF aims for:
Protection of the rights of childeren.
Help childeren meet their basic need.
Expand opportunities so that childeren can reach their full potential.
