In this assignment I am going to find out information from an
existing company and evaluate the market research they
have done for their product. The company I have chosen for
this assignment is Samsung. The product I have chosen for
this assignment I the Samsung Galaxy S8.
The first market strategy Samsung uses for their product is;
Product Diversification. For example, The Galaxy S product
line from Samsung focuses on customers from a higher class.
But the company has also imported the same user experience
to lower-class consumers through the Galaxy J product line.
Samsung has also manufactured a slightly trimmed down
version of the Galaxy S product line the Galaxy A. This
product line has almost the same processing and memory
specifications, but it is only half the price of the Galaxy S
products line. This way Samsung can offer each customer a
product. Someone with a high income and also someone with
a average income. In case of the Samsung Galaxy S8, when it
was released the selling price was €850.00, which is a too
much for an average earning man, for these kind of people
Samsung produces alternative product like the J7 and the A5
which are almost the same as the S8.
Other marketing research Samsung often does for their
products is; Advertising. Samsung does this by investing
heavily on traditional advertising just like companies such as
