P1: Apple
Identify how an organization plan recruitment using internal and external
sources.
In this assignment I am going to Identify how an organization plan recruitment
using internal and external sources. The company I have chosen for this
assignment is Apple.
How does an HRM department plan its recruitment?
The recruitment planning by Apple looks as the following; first, Apple
determines how many employees they need and for which job they need the
employees. After the need is determined the recruitment process starts, after
candidates have done their job interviews the selection part starts. The
selected employees get trained for the job. After the candidates are trained for
the job the manager determines the pay scales, health care bonuses and other
compensations.
When does an organization need new people?
Apple needs new employees for example when woman have to leave the job
for maternity leave, in this case Apple would have to search and hire an new
employee for a few months.
How do they find these new employees?
Apple had different types of methods it uses to hire new employees. The most
common methods to reach a pool of suitable candidates are; trough job
postings, advertisement on their website or external websites, job
advertisements, newspapers, newsletters, posters at their stores, social media
and a method Apple uses lately is trough advertise on college campuses.
What are the reasons for a vacancy?
One of the main reasons for a vacancy at Apple could be when a current
employee leaves his job due to; promotion, firing or resignation. Another
reason could be if Apple doesn`t have enough employees for a certain role,
then they will have to hire some new employees. Another reason could be if
Apple introduces a new role in the company then they will have to hire new
employees to fill in the role.
