About the EXAM
Thank you very much for all your work during this course: you were struggling to understand
everything that we have been discussing during our classes and absolutely amazing learning in such
a short time…
As you know usually Statistics III projects (CS) are the inspiration for these exams: not this time.
During Class 5 we randomly sampled 15 NovaSbe Student Weight (kg), Height (cm), Gender and
some other as Nationality and Age (years) and we ran some analysis…
For each question in Groups I to III indicate only one answer in the table in page 8
Each correct answer is worth 0,70 values
Each wrong answer is worth 0,10 negative (-0,10).
Each answer blank or poorly marked is worth 0.
Group I
With the sample of X - Weight (kg) we computed the following indicators:
15 15
x
i =1
i = 936 (x
i =1
i − x ) 2 = 2680,3931
Weight is Normally distributed. From the 15 students we found out that 6 are Men.
1. The Margin of Error for the proportion of Men, using a 95% confidence level
is aprox
a) 0,208
b) 0,248
c) 0,126
d) we cannot compute this Margin of Error
2. The Margin of Error for the mean Weight, using a 90% confidence level is
aprox
a) 6,291
b) 4,805
c) 5,877
d) we cannot compute this Margin of Error
