- Elected governor of his adoptive state
- 1920 was elected as Warren G Hardy Vice President
- Nickname “silent cow” bc he always silenced his cell phone
- People saw his as a paradigm for fiscal restraints
- Documentary history of Calvin Coolidge’s life by taking documents that he
has written and stripping it to his words and life
- Born on July 4th, 1872 (The only president to be born on the 4th)
- From Plymouth, Vermont
- His father was a very good influence and was a very well known man in
town
- He was a very shy boy
- Tragedy happens when his mother dies at 10
- Younger sister dies when she is just 12
- He is a very slow starter in life and very unsure of himself until he gets to
amherst
- Goes to Amherst because the headmaster of Ludlow had gone there

- Runs a very efficient term cuts taxes, reduces debt, increases salaries for
teachers

“Bread and roses strike” was in lawrence massachusetts where they have cut
the amount of hours and pay that women get so they gon strike and is very
rough bc a women who dies and violence breaks out
- Coolidge solves the problem
- Frank Waterman Stearns who runs one of the biggest department stores of
Boston and is an Alumni for Amherst and ask Coolidge for a favor to
expand the sewer system at Amherst and Coolidge says no but it has been
passed
