For each individual (Suspect, Witness, Victim):
The rights of suspects - (answers)If you're arrested the police must:
•identify themselves as the police
•tell you that you're being arrested
•tell you what crime they think you've committed
•explain why it's necessary to arrest you
•explain to you that you're not free to leave
•If you're under 18 the police should not arrest you at school. However, if it's
unavoidable they must inform your headteacher beforehand.
•The police must also contact your parents, guardian or carer as soon as possible
after your arrival at the police station.

and the police shift if a suspect is violent or uncooperative.
When that is the case the police have powers to use reasonable force for example
holding you down so you cannot run off. You can also be handcuffed.
The police have powers to search you when you're arrested.
The rights of suspectsin custody - (answers)As a suspect in custody you:
Cannot refuse permission:
To have your photograph taken by an officer
To have your fingerprints taken and kept on record
To have a DNA sample (eg from a mouth swab or head hair root) taken from you
as well as swab the skin surface of your hands and arms.
Can refuse permission:
To have blood or urine samples taken from you by an officer
To have dental impressions taken
