A Christmas Carol Revision Graded A+

Hard/Sharp, Solitary/lonely, cold, mean (to Bob and coal on the fire), doesn't like Christmas (Bah
humbug) and doesn't like to give to charity (are there no prisons.....) ✔️✔️What are 3 ways Scrooge is
described in Stave 1

He is a good worker but Scrooge treats him poorly (Stave 1). He enjoys Christmas (has a go on the slide
on the way home from work, wants his family - Martha- with him and praises his wife's cooking). He is
warm-hearted and proposes a toast to Scrooge. He is devoted to his disabled son Tiny Tim (carries him
as though he is a horse and repeats what Tiny Tim has said) ✔️✔️What kind of person is Bob Cratchitt
?

Marley died alone- only Scrooge was at the funeral. His ghost has a chain wrapped around him and
attached to the chain were different features of Marley's and Scrooge work - this symbolises the
dangers of only thinks no about work. He warns Scrooge about paying to much attention to work and
profit and not enough time on helping people. He only appears in Stave 1. ✔️✔️In what ways does
Marley provide a warning for Scrooge ?

A glowing head with light coming out of it. He shows Scrooge when he was happy with his sister Fan, his
first boss Fezziweg and his first love Belle. Seeing these visions from the past makes Scrooge start to
wonder about what he has become ✔️✔️Describe the Ghost of Christmas Past and explain what he
taught Scrooge

'Jolly Green Giant' he is large and clad in a green robe, bare-chested and has holly decorating his
costume.

He shows Scrooge that Chrsitmas can be enjoyed by family gatherings - the Cratchits and Freds - and
that both families remember him but do not miss him. He also shows a number of different people in
different situations acting in the Christmas spirit ✔️✔️Describe the Ghost of Christmas Present and
explain the siginificance of what he shows Scrooge

Friendly (Stave 1), generous , happy, musical (Stave 3) - is happy to forgive (Stave 5)

Fred is the direct opposite of Scrooge in the way he enjoys Christmas. He also acts as a reminder to
Scrooge about his sister (Fan) who was also Fred's mother - for instance the "simple little air" played on
the harp. ✔️✔️Descibe 3 things about Fred and explain his significance to A Christmas Carol
