ABA is a powerful tool for behavior change in a variety of educational and clinical settings. Choose an
educational or clinical setting that is of interest to you. Describe the application of ABA implementation
in your chosen setting, and emphasize why ABA is appropriate for a population within this setting. In
response to your classmates, compare and contrast your descriptions with theirs.
I chose a pre-school classroom setting for my chosen setting. The application of ABA implemented is
after a state evaluation of the pre-school child due to the child pushing other children and acting out to the
point where the teacher gives the child time out outside the classroom where the child would sit and read
a book and make up a whole entire story on their own without encouragement from the staff in the office
where the time out was given.
When the child was evaluated by the state for 6 months to a year time frame, the child score was above
average in all categories accept in social emotional and was lacking in this category. After this evaluation
it was recommended by the state and the behavioral specialists who did the evaluation that the child
should be pushed up one grade into pre-kinder garden, however with assistance of an applied behavioral

to help teach the child social skills that would help the child as they observe the child on a regular basis in
the classroom. When the child acts out in a social situation with the classmate or classmates the ABA
professional would intervene and teach the child how to handle social situations that the child is not able
to overcome and to provide a journal of this observation and intervention in order to carry over with the
parents at home to help transition the new learned behavior consistently at home and in school. For
example a time out and a reward system for good behavior are just two examples of the implementations
that would be put into place to intervene and correct the unacceptable behaviors. If the child pushes
