Mediale zijde occipitale cortex bevat 2 sulci: sulcus calcarinus en sulcus parietoocipitalis. De ventrale
zijde bestaat uit de gyrus lingualis en meer anterieur (= voorzijde) de gyrus fusiformis. Over de ventrale
zijde loopt de sulcus collateralis en parallel (evenwijdig) en lateraal hiervan de sulcus
occipitotemporalis (zie onderaan)
