In the organisational context, the industry which functioned for constructing, repairing,
maintaining, and renovating infrastructures is defined as the construction industry (Bullivant
& Carley, 2015). In nature, construction industry is a specific industry in the business era.
Construction and renovation are primary functions of the construction industry in the built
environment. In performing at the built environment, the construction industry is required to
comply with statutory and legal requirements. In nature, the industry managed construction
projects where to make the projects of construction lawful the task of the industry is to meet
legal requirements and statutory needs. Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974 is an example
of the construction law and according to the law the legal accountability of the construction
industry is to develop a safe working environment for the workers (Gilbert, 2008). In the
construction industry, different stakeholders are included in the construction projects.
According to the Construction Regulations of 2015, the construction industry is legally
accountable to define legal responsibilities of the construction project stakeholders (Joyce,
2015). So that the project stakeholders can meet the legal responsibilities and the construction
project can be lawful. Their various legislations are available for the construction industry
like Construction Regulations of 2015 and Health and Safety at Work Act of 1974. The
primary duty of construction industry is to follow various legislations and to meet statutory
requirements so that legal challenges can be overlooked in the construction project.
The rationale for the report is to determine and investigate various statutory and legal
requirements for the construction industry so that a productive knowledge can be developed
on the legislations which are necessary to comply with in the construction projects. Ensuring
health and safety in the construction working environment is the primary legal duty for the
industry and the report will define various factors which will help the industry in completing
the legal duty. The report will consider a case study to define various construction tools and
techniques which are necessary to adopt in the project to turn the project lawful and
successful. In addition, to explore the tort law concept a case study will be applied by the
report. Finally, adjudication concept is defined by the report in an organised way.

Primary Statutory and Legal Requirements
In nature, the laws and statutory are required to meet by the construction industry in
designing and conduction the projects are defined as primary statutory and legal
requirements. This section of the report is accountable to find and define primary laws and
statutory for the construction project and industry. Various key legislations are determined
and defined below which are necessary to comply with in meeting statutory and legal
requirements successfully.
Construction Regulations 2015: Project manager, clients, designers, engineers, employees,
and so on are stakeholders of a construction project. It is necessary to ensure that the
stakeholders are legally responsible in the project. Therefore, Construction Regulation 2015
is developed so that the stakeholders can be responsible legally in the construction project
(Powell, 2016). Obligations of the stakeholders are defined by the law. A lawful project will
be ensured for the legal responsibilities of the stakeholders.
The Building Act of 1984: Construction of a sustainable infrastructure is the legal
responsibility of the construction industry and to ensure the responsibility the Building Act of
1984 is developed. According to the legislation, the construction industry is required to
consider sustainable plan and factors in designing and constructing super structure and sub
structure of the infrastructure (Tricker & Alford, 2022). The legislation contributed so that
safety, energy efficiency, and accessibility can be confirmed by the industry. Due to the
influence of the legislation the infrastructure design is required to be approved legally before
the starting of the project.
The Environmental Protection Act 1990: In nature, protection of the environment is the
primary duty of various industries of the business era. To make accountable the construction
industry to the environment the Environmental Protection Act 1990 is developed. According
to the legislation, the project is required to conduct in such manner so that least effects can be
ensured on the water, land, and air. In addition, the law influenced the constriction project so
that a reduction can be ensured in the carbon emissions. Future generations will have a
positive environment for the influence of the legislation.
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974: The primary legal and ethical duty of the industry is
to develop a safe working environment and to ensure the duty the HASWA legislation is
