Contemporary Issues within the sport
Introduction: Sport gets and is affected in positive ways and this allows the participation
rates to go up, so more people go do sport. But some factors can and are still affecting
sports that prevent people from participating in sport and going away form sports. However
sports tend to go also the different direction that makes the sport look bad or lack access by
not having opportunities, cheating, drugs and banned substances ext; Today I will cover 4
contemporary issues within sport and I’m going to cover Politics, Racism, sexism in sport
and Deviance and I’m going to say what they are what their effects have on sports also
covering their positives and negatives!
Politics:
Politics are associated with the governance of accounting or area, for example, Copeland
council there will be governors for this area, especially the debate between parties that are
having power. Their different types of parties in UK such UKIP, labour and other and
whoever gets the most votes from the general public of the Uk becomes the strongest party
and they are the ones that can then start to create rules, laws of the society that we live in
for example in the UK the section of England not Scotland the English parliament
government that can create laws know specifically in England, not in other countries.
This allows the government to have power because they can create new laws, rules, and
regulations which mains that the parties can quickly gain influence on different sports like in
boxing! Before America went to war, Muhammad Ali turned his religion into Muslim and he
was against any wars and violence (killing). But at the time He was a young, fit, and talented
boxer and has won a world heavyweight championship belt, he was the best boxer in the
world, which given him a lot of fame and everyone known him in America and the world
also they stud up with him for everything. Therefore he was a great celebrity also a good
promotion for war in the eyes of the American government because everyone liked him
White, black from different backgrounds and for the war they needed everyone.
for example in America, there was a “Vietnam War, which starts from (1954–75)”
Government announced that they are going to war with China (Vietnam) and they needed a
lot of men to go to war to win the war and so they were recruiting a lot of men but it was
not enough for the American government so they needed more people to go to war so they
wanted to use famous people to promote the war by encouraging them to go to war
(Britannica, 2017). Which was Muhammad Ali they thought that they would follow him
because they were strong supporters and would follow him everywhere.
Politics had the most negative effect on sport because they have found their target which
was Muhammad Ali they wanted to use him for their good. They wanted to send him to
Vietnam and they wanted him to say it publicly in front of the public because if he was to
say it in front of everyone he could get a lot of followers to go with him to Vietnam. They
wanted to take the advantages of him being famous to send more people to war because
they would recruit more people as Ali was going to war he would be able to take big fan
support with to Vietnam. They tried to use Muhammed Ali as propaganda because he was a
well known person and famous. But Ali refused to go to war because of his religion and has
