This report is going to assess the importance of supporting individuals with additional needs. All societies
including adults and children who require additional support and needs, in order to deal with the daily
challenges, which are a part of their everyday lives. Some of these challenges are not from an impairment but
from the response from society to adults and children who are differently-abled. This report is going to be
examining how to overcome the challenges of daily living faced by people with additional needs. Lastly, I am
going to investigate current practice concerning provision for individuals with additional needs. With the
points that had been made above, I am going to be referring to two case studies of Rebecca Brown; an
8-year-old wheelchair user and Ben Grace a 52-year-old with down’s syndrome and type 2 diabetes. As this is
a continuation from the report that was made on examining the reasons why individuals may experience
additional needs.
