• Terugkeer vloeistoffen & opgeloste deeltjes vanuit perifere weefsels nr bloed
o Vocht opgenomen in lymfevaten = lymfe
o MO, celafval, vreemd materiaal eruit filteren in lymfeknopen
• Transport van hormonen, voedings- en afvalstoffen van weefsels nr bloed

Ontstaat vanuit bloedplasma
Nt alle vloeistof die thv capillairen nr weefsels ging, w terug opgenomen in bloed
Overtollig weefselvocht
• Opgenomen door lymfecapillairen in weefsel
-> lymfevaten -> veneuze circulatie
• Vocht in lymfevaten = lymfe(vocht)
Kleine lymfecapillairen -> steeds grotere lymfevaten -> ductus thoracicus -> vena cava (-> hart)
• Gn spieren in wanden
Afh v contracties vd omringende skeletspieren
Lichaamsbewegingen brengen lymfe in beweging
• Grote lymfevaten: eenrichtingskleppen
• Voorkomen lymfe terugstromen
