Deze zeven technieken schatten hoeveel van de variantie (spreiding van de data) in een afhankelijke
variabele Y systematisch (niet-toevallig) samenhangt (covarieert) met de variantie in een
onafhankelijke variabelen X; De technieken nemen aan dat scores op een afhankelijke variabele
voorspeld kunnen worden door:
X variabelen die zijn gemeten en die als predictor zijn opgenomen in een model waarin zij de
afhankelijke variabele systematisch beïnvloeden.
Variabelen die niet zijn gemeten en die niet als predictor zijn opgenomen in een model, maar
die de afhankelijke variabele wel systematisch beïnvloeden (ἐ = systematische error/residu
genoemd) .
Variabelen die we niet hebben gemeten en die de afhankelijke variabele alleen toevallig
beïnvloeden (ook ἐ = random error/residu genoemd)

kijken naar de complexiteit van samenhang.

(nominaal/categorisch) (continue schaal: 1= laag, 10= hoog)
Bivariate Regression Analysis: Conceptueel model is hetzelfde als bij ANOVA. De
uitkomsten zijn dan ook hetzelfde. Bivariate regressie vindt niet vaak plaats.
