This is the documentation of the mobile app I created to achieve a distinction on the second Mobile App Develpoment assignment. This was required for the second assignment of Mobile App Development as the criteria dictated in the 2018/2019 year.
Mobile Apps Assignment 2: Create Mobile App
Design Document-
To teach kids the application must provide some level of difficulty level for
them and this will be done by providing them with multiple levels. This is to
also make the application more versatile and appeal to a wider audience. To
satisfy the clients requirements of having addition, subtract, multiply and
divide options there will be a hub screen that allows the user to choose
between these modes. To also make it easier for the target demographic the
modes will be clearly indicated to not confuse them. Of course, we will also
clarify in the code that negative numbers are not to be produced along with
rounds being restricted to 10 questions. The levels will also adhere to the time
limits set by the clients.
When it comes to the visual aesthetic and graphics, I will make the application
more engaging to the target demographic which in this case are children the
app will contain suitable graphics and sound effects when appropriate. The
colour-scheme will be comprised by the three primary colours.
Also, to provide a break from the usual activity I will put a calculator in place.
This also allows the child to experiment with numbers and learn at their own
pace.
Feedback:
From the people I asked a common suggestion was to do more with the
graphics aspect of the app. So instead of just simple colours the app will also
include some pictures.
Testing-
These are the tests I conducted last week on the app and various isolated
features:
Test Expected Results Actual Results
Calculator 1-Whatever value the user selects 1- The wide array of buttons pressed did in
should be input into the program. fact input the requested value.

2-The buttons perform the
appropriate functions.
