Engels – 2e leerjaar
De present simple gebruik je als je het hebt over feiten, gewoonten en
regelmatigheden. Gebruik je het werkwoord bij de 3e persoon enkelvoud dan
voegen we een ‘s’ toe; He swims, My sister plays hockey. Leer de Present Simple
en je kunt jezelf, anderen en je omgeving omschrijven; stap één in het
communiceren in het Engels. Signaalwoorden: sometimes, often, always,
frequently,
Stam ( + (e) s)
De Past Simple gebruik je voor alles dat afgelopen is. Denk aan signaalwoorden
als yesterday, last night, in 1982, this morning. Elk werkwoord heeft één vorm in de
verleden tijd behalve ‘to be’: was/were. Als een werkwoord regelmatig is eindigt
het in de verleden tijd (Past Simple) op -ed (walked, travelled, laughed)
onregelmatige werkwoorden moet je leren. Stam + (e)d/ onregelmatige
werkwoorden 2e kolom.
De Present Continuous is voor de NU. Alles wat je NU aan het doen bent zeg je in
de Present Continuous tijd. Zoals: You are reading this now. Ook als je een gedrag van
iemand irritant vindt kun je dat het beste in de Present Continuous zeggen;
My father is always asking me about my homework.
George is playing soccer at the moment.
He is trying to teach right now.
Tegenwoordige tijd ‘to be’ + ww + ing
Wil je aangeven dat je iets een tijdje deed dan gebruik je de Past Continuous.
Deze tijd wordt vooral gebruikt in combinatie met de Past Simple; je was iets aan
het doen toen er ineens of tegelijkertijd iets anders gebeurde. De Past
Continuous is een goede tijd om verhalen mee te vertellen.

Present perfect (simple)
, Have + past participle
tt. ‘to have’ + volt. Dw. 3 e kolom voor onregelmatige ww.
Stam + ed voor regelmatige ww.
De Present Perfect heeft alles te maken met het verleden en het nu. Voor het
verleden ken je al de Past Simple, maar dat is afgelopen. De Present
Perfect heeft ook nu nog invloed of is nog steeds bezig. Zo kun je met de Present
Perfect bijvoorbeeld zeggen dat je al 3 keer dezelfde film hebt gezien: I have
seen this film three times already. Signaalwoorden, woorden waaraan je ziet dat
de Present Perfect ook nu nog doorgaat/bezig is, zijn for, since,
already en never. I have never been to New York.

Present perfect (continuous)
Tt ‘have’ + been + ww
He has been watching television since this morning.
She has been swimming.
De present perfect continuous verwijst naar een onbepaalde tijd tussen 'voor nu'
en 'nu'. De spreker denkt over iets dat begonnen is, maar mogelijk nog niet in die
periode is afgelopen. Hij/zij is zowel geïnteresseerd in het proces als in het
resultaat, en dit proces kan nog voortduren of is net afgelopen.
