language skills, limited access to books, a school's ability to meet each student's reading
challenges, and large and growing gaps in literacy skills by socioeconomic status. Read a
minimum of five reference sources (two of which may be the course textbooks) on the selected
topic and write a report following these instructions:

use of technology may lead to negative outcomes such as distractions in the classroom, its

increased use in elementary students has led to improved overall academic performance in their

reading and writing skills, cognitive development, and reduced anxiety when dealing with

challenging subjects.

elementary students showed a positive outcome for those incorporating technology into their

learning. The study reported that elementary students used mobile devices, such as tablets, to

gain specific skills useful in writing such as improving their vocabulary knowledge, phonemic

awareness, increased fluency, and comprehension (Wen & Walters, 2022, p. 8). These areas are

important in writing and contribute positively to their overall performance. Another study

compared writing instruction through digital technology versus using pen and paper and reached

a similar conclusion to Wen and Walters (2022). Students who used tablets to write exhibited

more creativity, longer length, and overall quality than those who used pen and paper (Yamaç et
