income affect people's perceptions of places.
The perception of residents in such places may differ according to the type and position of
people and their needs and aspirations:
Younger people in high earning jobs will enjoy the fast pace of life and range of
opportunities offered in London and Manchester.
Retirees may view places offering a slower pace of life with a pleasant climate;
sheltered accommodation and good access to healthcare are successful, eg: Torquay
and Dorset.
Unskilled people, lower earners and the long term unemployed will have more
negative views.
