- 2 genen in de hypothalamus (SCN): Bmal1 en Clk
- Van deze genen wordt mRNA gemaakt
- mRNA gaat de kern uit en hier worden eiwitten van
gemaakt
- De eiwitten van Bmal1 en Clk vormen een dimeer en
gaan de nucleus in
- In de nulceus gaan deze op enhancers van genen zitten
wat resulteert in het tot expressie brengen van de genen
- De genen waar het aan bindt zijn Cry, Ccg en Per, hier
wordt weer mRNA van gemaakt en vervolgens weer eiwit
- Cry en Per eiwitten vormen een dimeer
- Deze inhibeert de Bmal1/Clk dimeer en zorgt dat de
Bmal1 en Clk expressie toeneemt
De suprachiasmtische nucleus (SCN) als biologische klok
- Suprachiasmatische nucleus bevindt zich in paraventricular nucleus in de
hypothalamus
- Krijgt input van retinale ganglioncellen
