standing by previous decision is know as the rule of precedent.
Statute law is a written law enacted by federal and provincial legislation which
supersedes and amends common law.
Damages

b) purpose of those - answerCompensatory damages are damages which are intended
to compensate the injured party for bodily injury or property damage sustained.
Remedies of breach of contract - answerBreach of contract is a failure, without legal
excuse, to perform any promise which forms the whole or part of the contract.
When there is a breach, the court may rule:
1. provide for payment of damages to the injured party.
2. enforce specific performance of the contract.
3. grant an injunction prohibiting a party to the contract from performing certain acts, or
ensure a party to the contract performs certain acts.
4. permit rescission os the contract so as to return the parties to their pre contract
positions.
