, Inleiding
Momenteel zit ik in mijn laatste leerjaar van de opleiding tot hbo-verpleegkundige. Ik studeer aan de
Hogeschool Utrecht en ik loop voor een half jaar stage in het Meander Medisch Centrum in
Amersfoort. De afdeling waar ik stageliep is B3 Traumachirurgie/ Gynaecologie en KNO. Normatieve
professionalisering is een opdracht die vanuit school moet worden gemaakt. In maart 2020 is het
coronavirus uitgebroken, waardoor de stage vroegtijdig is stopgezet. Als alternatieve stageplek ben
ik werkzaam als ‘Verpleegkundig ondersteuner’ op afdeling C2, GE-chirurgie. Het stopzetten van
stage heeft enkele consequenties voor de uitwerking van de opdracht. Feedbackformulieren van zorg
professionals zijn hierdoor niet opgenomen in dit verslag.
Normatieve professionalisering gaat uit van de veronderstelling dat elk professioneel handelen,
behalve technische en communicatieve kwaliteiten, ook morele kanten heeft. Om je als professional
te ontwikkelen is het van belang om de morele kant goed in de gaten te houden en steeds kritisch te
kijken naar je eigen handelen. Hierbij kijk je wat het handelen teweegbrengt, of het goed is wat je
doet en hoe dingen de volgende keer anders kunnen (de Vries, 2020). In dit verslag wordt een
moreel dilemma besproken wat zich richt op de zorg van patiënten met een psychische
problematiek.
