Dit verslag is geschreven vanuit de opdracht “Critically Appraised Topic (CAT)”. Daarbij staat de Canadian
Medical Education Directions for Specialists (CanMEDS) rol Reflectieve EBP-professional met daarbij
behorende kernbegrippen ‘onderzoekend vermogen’ en ‘inzet EBP’ centraal zoals beschreven in het
opleidingsprofiel Bachelor of Nursing 2020 (Lambregts, Grotendorst, & Van Merwijk, 2015).
“De verpleegkundige streeft naar het toepassen van instrumenten en interventies waarvan de
doeltreffendheid en doelmatigheid aannemelijk zijn. Zij neemt kennis van resultaten van wetenschappelijk
onderzoek en past die waar mogelijk toe in de beroepspraktijk”(p.27).

Dit verslag is opgebouwd vanuit de methodische stappen van evidence-based practice (EBP) zoals
omschreven in Evidence-based practice voor verpleegkundigen (Munten, Verhoef, & Kuiper, 2016).
In hoofdstuk 1 wordt de onderzoeksvraag geformuleerd die in hoofdstuk 2 wordt gebruikt voor de
